Kardashian divorce is closer to an end

It seems like it divorce has been dragging on for the reality star, but Kim Kardashian appeared in court recently for a hearing, attempting to settle her divorce case from NBA athlete Kris Humphries. Sources report that the TV star sat with her hands crossed on her lap in a jury, waiting for her court appearance. A judge has guarded the proceedings due to confidentiality mandates in the former couple's divorce settlement.

While efforts are being made to come to an agreement, if a resolution cannot be reached, a trial on the union is schedule to begin in early May 2013. The issue: the athlete is pursuing an annulment based on his assertion the couple's short-lived matrimony was fraudulent. Humphries claims that the union should be annulled because his wife married him only for the purpose of her reality show.

The litigants are both expected to testify in the matter. Discussions are to focus on the couple's former relationship - specifically whether the union was set up for the show "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." However, the Brooklyn Nets player has not presented specifics to back his claim.

The TV star's mother, Kris Jenner, is predicted to testify about the pair's relationship. At this time, the NBA player has not yet provided the court with his witness list for the hearing.

Both parties are represented by attorneys in the matter. The trial is expected to last approximately one week.

Divorce is a stressful process, which often carries on for several months. To ensure that your divorce matters are handled smoothly, you may want to seek out the assistance of a qualified family law attorney. A local attorney can support you through your difficult time.
